Make Polka Dot Nail Art With the Tip of a Bobby Pin

This is a very quick and easy way to add some detail to your nails. All you need to do is get a bobby pin and dip the ends of it into nail polish. Then, you can apply however many polka dots you want onto your nails.

Use White Nail Polish as a Basecoat to Make Your Nail Color Pop

Most nail polishes are transparent, and the natural tint of your fingernails will change the color of your polish. To prevent this and get the nail polishes real color add a layer of white nail polish as a basecoat. Then go over it with your preferred nail polish color.

Add Cornstarch to Clear Nail Polish to Create a Matte Topcoat

If you want to add something different to your nail polish collection, you can make a DIY matte topcoat. This is a really easy thing to do. All you need is a topcoat that you are okay with making completely matte. Then just add cornstarch to the topcoat until the topcoat turns a cloudy white color.

Create an Easy Heart With a Heart-Shaped Hole Punch and Tape

All you need to create a cute heart nail art stencil is a heart-shaped hole punch and tape. Just simply punch a hole through the tape, lay the tape over your nail and paint on a heart! If you want several hearts on your nail you can take another piece of tape and punch several hearts in the tape.

Use the End of an Eyeliner Pencil to Place Tiny Nail Art Accessories like Rhinestones on Your Nails

If you have trouble using your fingers or tweezers to apply nail accessories, the tip of an eyeliner pencil works great! The end of a pencil is tacky and will grip the jewel, sticker, or rhinestone, and it won't get in the way or ruin your design.

Create a Marbled Effect by Using Drops of Swirled Nail Polish and a Cup of Water

First, apply tape around your nail to protect your skin. This makes sure you don’t get any polish onto your skin. Next, fill a cup with room-temperature water. Now, Grab two different colors of nail polish you prefer and add drops of each polish into the cup of water. When adding the drops make sure you alternate colors each time. Once you've added a few drops of each color, get a toothpick and swirl the layers together to create a marble design. Now, stick your finger into the cup and push your nail into the layers of nail polish. Hold your finger there for a few seconds to make sure the polish sticks to your nail. Next, use your toothpick to get the rest of the paint away from your finger. Lastly, pull your finger out of the water, clean up the edges, and apply a topcoat.

Use an old dried out gel pen to draw intricate designs on your nails

Using the tip of an old gel pen will allow you to make small detailed nail art. You can draw flowers, birds, symbols, and many other things. Make sure that the pen is completely free of ink, you can do that by taking the pen apart and clearing out all the ink. After creating your designs make sure you give it a decent time to dry. It takes a long time to dry and you don't want to mess up your masterpiece!

Turn any Top Coat Nail Polish Into Glitter Nail Polish

You can create any glitter nail polish you want! All you need is your preferred color of glitter and top coat nail polish. Then, just add your preferred amount of glitter into the top coat and that's it! You can make any glitter nail polish you want. It can be rainbow, purple, green, red, pink, orange, and many more!

Fix a Smudged Nail by Adjusting the Polish With the Tip of Your Tongue

If you accidentally smudge your nail polish, try adjusting the paint with the tip of your tongue instead of your finger. Your tongue is just soft enough to fix the paint without leaving any imprints. Only use this tip only when necessary though, and try not to lick your nail polish too often.
